Delft, Porceleyne Fles Tile Panel after a Painting by Du Chattel

A Porceleyne Fles Delft hand painted large tile panel after a painting by Du Chattel. The tile panel is executed in color blue. The panel consists of 12 tiles and is painted by Porceleyne fles factory in 1900. There is a painter’s mark for H.C. Bottelier who worked at the factory from 1880 until 1924. Established in 1653, De Koninklijke Porceleyne Fles is the only remaining delft blue pottery factory from the 17th century. This atmospheric tile panel is painted after a 19th century painting “View of Vreeland” of Fredericus Jacobus van Rossum du Chattel, (1856-1917). He was a Dutch impressionist painter and one of a group of artist who lived in The Hague. He was known for the many landscapes paintings, many were also used for productions of tiles and plaques at the Porceleyne Fles. Overall size including original frame: 81.3 x 65.7 cm (32”x 26”). Each tile measures: 15 x 15 cm. (6 square) Total weight is 13 KG. (29 Lb) Both frame and tiles are in very good condition.
