Medieval tile with Fleur-de-Lis decoration

Rare encaustic medieval floor tile depicting a fleur-de-lis in a lozenge. Decoration in red clay in a white colored body. Traces of original surface glaze. This tile was -possibly- one of a group of tiles excavated at the monastery of Saint-Gond, Marne in 1887. Provenance: Achterbergh collection, The Netherlands.
