Floor tile from the department of Aisne, France. The decoration of a horseman was stamped into a tile formed from plastic clay, and then was filled with clay slip of a lighter color. After glazing and firing, this decorative floortile was created. Tiles with this decoration can be found around Chateau Thierry. Fair condition tile, wear on surface, and lime deposits, some small chips on sides. The tile appears to have been thoroughly cleaned. On the back possibly a date, find date?
