AN4965 Servais Art Nouveau tile € 299,00

Servais Werke Ehrang Art Nouveau Tile, circa 1900 This exceptional ceramic tile was produced around 1900 by Servais Werke Ehrang, a manufactory renowned for some of the most refined and innovative designs of the Art Nouveau period. The composition is strikingly elegant, featuring a pair of highly stylized floral forms that rise symmetrically from the base of the tile. The design balances fluid, organic lines with a controlled geometric structure, resulting in a harmonious interplay between nature and abstraction. The sweeping curves and rhythmic outlines are characteristic of the finest Jugendstil work, where decoration becomes an integrated, almost architectural element. The condition is very good, with minor imperfections along the right edge caused during the production process. These should be regarded as original firing characteristics and are typical of early twentieth-century ceramic manufacture. Tiles of this quality were used in prestigious interiors, often forming part of elaborate wall compositions or fireplace surrounds. Today, they are considered among the finest expressions of German Art Nouveau ceramics, admired for their sophisticated design and outstanding craftsmanship.
