This is an exceptional and iconic example of an Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) tile, likely produced by the Sächsische Ofen- und Schamottewarenfabrik, formerly Ernst Teichert, Meissen (S.O.F.). The tile is dominated by the woman's head rendered in deep relief. Her eyes are closed in a serene or meditative expression, evoking a sense of calm and introspection. On the upper left and right sides of the head, two stylized flowers are placed in relief (possibly daisies or asters). These flowers literally integrate the woman with nature, a fundamental principle of Jugendstil. Unfortunately, it is not in perfect condition; the bottom of the tile has been restored by a few millimeters.
