This beautiful Art Nouveau tile was produced by Norddeutsche Steingutfabrik Grohn (NSTG), Grohn near Bremen, Germany, and dates to approximately 1905–1910. The design features a stylised floral motif with a central eight-petalled flower set against a soft sky-blue background, framed by elegant flowing stems and bold, organic leaves. Executed in moulded relief with softly shaded glazes in olive green, pale blue, warm yellow, the composition is a classic example of German Jugendstil, where natural forms are interpreted through graceful, symmetrical lines. The reverse displays the characteristic moulded checkerboard backing associated with Norddeutsche Steingutfabrik Grohn, allowing the tile to be confidently attributed to the factory. The tile is in very good antique condition, retaining a bright, glossy glaze and crisp relief.
