This set of two tiles by Meissner Ofen- und Porzellanfabrik, formerly Ernst Teichert, dates to around 1900. The design reflects the restrained, linear side of Art Nouveau ornament. Stylized plant forms are reduced to elongated, rhythmic shapes. Soft green leaf elements contrast with slender violet stems. The composition emphasizes verticality and symmetry. Raised relief lines give the surface subtle depth and definition. The pale background enhances the clarity of the colored motifs.Light craquelure and minor wear attest to age and use.
