AN4912 Carl sigmund Luber tileset € 1.950,00

Beautiful pair of Art Nouveau ceramic tiles depicting elegant, elongated female figures in the characteristic flowing style of the Jugendstil movement. One figure is shown playing a harp, while the other poses gracefully with raised arm, both surrounded by stylized, flowing hair and decorative organic forms. The design is by Carl Sigmund Luber, artistic director of the artistic faience department at Johann von Schwarz in Nuremberg. He worked for this company from 1896 until the closure of the artistic department in 1906. The rich cobalt-blue background enhances the finely detailed relief decoration, with subtle shading and vibrant colors including deep greens, warm browns, soft lilac, and golden yellow accents. Both tiles are mounted in a dark green wooden frame with gilt inner borders, ready for display. Very good condition with light, age-related wear consistent with early 20th-century production. The frames show minor signs of use.
