Beautiful original antique Art Nouveau tile made by J. H. Barratt & Co Ltd 1895 - 1927, Stoke-on-Trent, England. The decoration of floral motifs is embossed by dust-pressed technique in which clay powder is compressed under high pressure in a mold. The tile is in good condition, with a few light scraches to green glaze. Bottom two corners are cut off, this was done to make the tile fit into a washstand, which was common in the Victorian and Art Nouveau period.
